China Agricultural University 2026 Beijing Government Scholarship Admission for International Students

The Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students (hereinafter referred to as the BGS) is a program established by the Beijing Municipal Government to strengthen the Study in Beijing brand. It aims to encourage international students to study diligently and pursue academic excellence, so as to cultivate high-level talents with high moral character and outstanding academic performance.

In 2026, our university’s BGS program will mainly support new undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, as well as outstanding self-funded current students (a separate notice will be issued for current students).

1. Eligibility

(1) Non-Chinese citizens who do not possess Chinese nationality in accordance with the Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China and hold a valid ordinary passport.

(2) Physically and mentally healthy, having passed the medical examination for Chinese visa or residence permit application, and the medical examination required by the academic program at our university, to ensure normal study and life in China.

(3) No disciplinary violations, no public security penalties or criminal records; friendly to China and well-behaved; abide by Chinese laws and university regulations, and respect Chinese culture.

(4) Academic and age requirements

1. Applicants for undergraduate programs must have a high school graduation certificate or equivalent qualification, and be under 25 years old.

2. Applicants for master’s programs must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, and be under 35 years old.

3. Applicants for doctoral programs must hold a master’s degree or equivalent qualification, and be under 40 years old.

(5) Language proficiency

1. For Chinese-taught programs: Chinese proficiency shall reach at least HSK Level 4.

2. For English-taught programs: For non-native English speakers, TOEFL score of 85 or higher, IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, or certification that the highest degree was obtained through English-medium instruction.

(6) Academic performance

In principle, the institution awarding the previous degree shall be a key university (or research institute) in the home country, with an average score of no less than 80/100 or GPA 3.0. For current students applying, the average score of the previous academic year shall be no less than 80/100. Students applying for undergraduate must have a CSCA score of at least 80.

2. Application Documents

(1) One copy of the applicant’s passport (valid until after December 2026).

(2) Electronic copy of personal ID photo.

(3) Original or notarized copy of degree certificate or proof of academic qualification, and original and copy of academic transcript.

Applicants who are about to graduate must submit a pre-graduation certificate. Admitted students must submit these documents upon registration at China Agricultural University; otherwise, the admission will be canceled.

(4) Two recommendation letters from scholars with the title of associate professor or higher. No specific format is required, but all letters must be signed by the referees.

(5) Study / work experience (updated to the date of application).

(6) Study or research plan in Chinese or English (no less than 1,000 words).

(7) Language proficiency certificate:

· English-taught programs: IELTS 6.5 or higher / TOEFL iBT 85 or higher / highest degree obtained through English-medium instruction.

· Chinese-taught programs: Valid HSK certificate.

(8) Foreigner Physical Examination Form (available at: http://www.csc.edu.cn/uploads/forms/foreinphy.pdf).

(9) Visa information (only for international students currently studying in China).

(10) Non-criminal record report (issued by public security authorities).

(11) Published academic papers, patents or other academic achievements (original or copy).

All documents must be written in Chinese or English.

4. Major and Nationality Requirements

In light of its educational characteristics and content, this year’s BGS program is divided into two categories based on targeted countries and majors. Applicants may choose the corresponding category according to their nationality and academic background.
