I. Coverage

The sponsorship period for undergraduate students is generally a maximum of 4 academic years. The sponsorship period for master's students is generally a maximum of 4 academic years (including 1 year of Chinese language remedial studies). The sponsorship period for doctoral students is generally a maximum of 5 academic years (including 1 year of Chinese language remedial studies).

II. Admission Categories

Applicants shall be limited to full-time on campus undergraduate, master's and doctoral students. Majors offered mainly include science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and artificial intelligence. Majors of language and literature, currently enrolled students (except graduating seniors) and joint-training students are not eligible for admission. 

III. Application Requirements

• Applicants must be students from ASEAN countries and in sound physical and mental health.
• Academic Qualifications and Age Limits:

            a) For Bachelor's Degree Programs

Applicants must possess a qualification equivalent to a senior high school diploma, demonstrate excellent academic performance, and generallu be no older than 25 years. 

            b) For Master's Degree Programs

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, demonstrate excellent academic performance, and generally be no older than 35 years.

            c) For Doctoral Degree Programs

Applicants must hold a Master's degree or equivalent, demonstrate excellent academic performance, and generally be no older than 40 years.

• Language Proficiency Requirements: 

            a) CSCA Test (For Undergradute Applicants) 

Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, applicants seeking admission to undergraduate programs in China must take the "Undergraduate Academic Proficiency Test for International Students in China" (hereinafer referred to as CSCA) before submitting their application a valid score report must be uploaded to the application system. The CSCA score report will be one of the essential materials for our university's admission review. For details regarding the CSCA, please visit the official website www.csca.cn

            b) Chinese-taught Program (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral)

Applicants for programs taught in Chinese are generally required to have a Chinese language proficiency level equivalent to HSK Level 4 with a score of 180 or above. Applicants for Master's or Doctoral programs who do not meet the HSK Level 4 requirements may be admitted to study Chinese for one year as a preparatory student.

            c) English-taught Programs (Doctoral)

Applicants for Doctoral programs taught in English must provide proof of English proficiency, such as an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, or an equivalent certificate.

• Applicants must also meet GUET's admission requirements regarding academic ability and other relevant aspects 

IV. Application Method and Required Documents (Applicants that fail to provide materials as required below shall be deemed invalid)

Applicants must fill in the application form truthfully and submit application materials in strict accordance with the requirements:

1) Online Application. Applicants shall log on the China Government Scholarship Information System for International Students (http://www.campuschina.org), fill in the China Government Scholarship Application Form online and submit the required supporting documents 

2) Application Documents

• China Government Scholarship Application Form (to be filled in Chinese or English) 
• First page of passport

If the validity period of the current passport fails to meet the requirement, please renew the passport in a timely manner

• Notarized highest academic certificate

If the applicant is an in-school student, a certificate of expected graduation or student status issued by the current institution shall be submitted.

• Academic transcript (starting from undergraduate studies).

Scanned trancripts shall cover academic records from undergraduate, master's (if applicable), and doctoral (if applicable) stages up to the most recent semester. Transcripts must be issued and stamped by the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School or relevant student administration department of the applicant's institution. Chinese or English transcripts are acceptable. For transcripts in languages other than English, a notarized English translation shall be additionally provided.

• Language proficiency certificate

Applicants for Chinese-taught programs shall provide a valid HSK score report meeting the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirement. Applicants for foreign-language-taught programs shall provide relevant language profociency certificates as required by the university, such as IELTS or TOEFL score reports.

• Score report of the Chinese Scholastic Assessment for International Undergraduates (CSCA)

Applicants for bachelor's degree programs shall register for the CSCA and obtain a valid score report before the application deadline. Applicants for Chinese-taught undergraduate programs shall provide scores in specialized Chinese (arts Chinese for arts majors, science Chinese for science majors), Mathematics and Physics. Applicants for English-taught undergraduate programs shall provide scores in Mathematics and Physics.

• A study plan

A Chinese or English study plan (over 1.000 words) shall be submitted. Doctoral applicants shall have their study plan signed by the Chinese surpervisor. The study plan may only be written in Chinese or English

• Recommendation letters

Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. The letters shall mainly cover the applicant's study objectives in China, cooperation between Chinese universities/supervisors and overseas supervisors or inter-university exchanges, as wel as evaluations of the applicant's comprehensive abilities and future develompment. Recommendation letters may only be written in Chinese or English.

• Personal works

Applicants applying for majors such as art and design may upload personal works (e.g. videos, paintings) via the "Works/Other Supporting Materials" section, or provide them in other forms as required by the university.

• Applicants under 18 shall submit relevant legal documents for their legal guardians in China.
• Copy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (the original shall be kept by the applicant. This uniformlu printed from issued by Chinese health and quarantine authorities must be filled in English)

Applicants shall strictly complete all examination items specified in the form. The form shall be invalid if any item is missing, the applicant's photo is not affixed or not cross-stamped, or without signatures and seals of physicians and hospitals. The examination result is valid for six months.

• No criminal record certificate

Applicants shall submit a valid no-criminal-record certificate issued by local public security authorities, generally issued within six months prior to the application submission date.

3. Guangxi ASEAN Government Scholarship

I. Scholarship Coverage and Criteria

• Tuition
• Accommodation: on campus 4-bed room
• Living allowance: 12.000 CNY/year for Bachelor's programs, 18.000 CNY/year for Master's and Doctoral programs
• Insurance: comprehensive medical insurance for international students in China

II. Eligibility

• Non-Chinese nationality and be in good health
• Degrees and age requirements:

a) Be a high school's degree holder under the age of 25 while applying for undergraduate programs. Ther average grade during study should be 75% above and HSK level must be HSK 4 or above (>= 180). If not, one year of Chinese language pre-paratory study is required

b) Be a bachelor's degree holder under the age of 35 while applying for master's programs. The average grade during study should be 75% above and HSK level must be HSK 4 or above (>= 180). If not, one year of Chinese language preparatory study is required

c) Be a master's degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs. The average grade during study should be 75% above and published at least two high-level papers. Chinese taught applicants need to provide HSK 5 certificate or above. If not, one year of Chinese language preparatory study is required.

III. Application Documents 

• Application form for ASEAN Government Scholarship which can be downloaded in Attachment 2
• Photocopy of the latest degree certificate and transcripts (Notarized Copy), graduating in this year shall provide the proof of graduation (either in English or Chinese), and sign a contract with university to promise that applicants will resubmit the graduation certificate and transcripts in two month after arrive in university, otherwise, applicant's scholarship will be canceled automatically.
• Applicants for undergraduate programs are required to take the Chinese Undergraduate Academic Proficiency Test for International Students (CSCA) prior to application submission and provide the official score report
• A study plan or research proposal (either in English or Chinese, minimum of 1000 words)
• Applicants for master's and doctoral programs must provide two recommendation letters from professors (either in English or Chinese)
• Doctor required to offer the relatives published academic papers
• Foreigner Physical Examination Form which can be downloaded from attachment 3. This form is uniformly printed by the Health and Quarantine Department of China. It is limited to those who have been studying in China for more than six months and must be filled in English. The applicant shall carry out the inspection in strict accordance with the items required in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The Foreigner Physical Examination Form which is missing or not affixed with photo or the seam of riding or the signature of a doctor or a hospital is invalid. In view of the validity of examination results for 6 months, the applicant is requested to confirm the times for his physical examination accordingly
• No Criminal Record Certificate
